Throughout her career, Wendy has pursued her studies and developed her business knowledge by completing a Diploma in Book keeping & Accounts, Foundation Certificate in PRINCE2 Project Management and recently completing a Business Skills module at Edinburgh Napier. In addition, she has pursued personal interests by completing two Open University courses in Creative Writing and Social Science.
Wendy started her career at the Edinburgh & Lothians Tourist Board, where she worked with the Finance Manager and Chief Executive, as PA and assisting with corporate governance. After three years, she moved to join her family’s businesses – a dairy and a golf course. She stayed with the businesses, running the finance and administrative functions, until their sale in 2003
Wendy’s next challenge was working with Home Scotland, the Scottish Subsidiary of Home Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of affordable housing. For six years Wendy was Senior Administration Officer, Wendy oversaw the administration of the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices. In addition, she worked closely with the Managing Director in the running of the Board, in all administrative tasks as well as ensuring regulatory requirements were met. In 2009, Wendy joined Ann Mitchell Management Ltd, providing businesses with business management, book keeping and administrative support and was appointed to Solve. in April 2012.
Wendy has also served on the Executive Committee of the Association of Scottish Businesswomen.
