Immediately after graduating from university Tracey joined Royal Mail’s Management Accounts department where she was responsible for analysing weekly staffing hours and budgets for operational units within the East of Scotland. This role involved compiling annual staff budgets of up to £20m.
As Tracey’s main desire was to work within HR she successfully applied for a resourcing role which proved to be high volume and time critical work. She oversaw the end to end recruitment process for front-line and administrative staff along with assessing managerial capability and suitability. As a result Tracey has considerable recruitment and interviewing experience having conducted several thousand competency based interviews and assessments. Her expertise and innovative approach ensured that she always delivered the right people within tight timescales and hence her promotion to Recruitment Advisor.
Working with senior area managers on best recruitment practice, Tracey also gained training experience as she became responsible for new recruit training inductions and training and coaching unit managers to improve their interviewing skills. The biggest project that Tracey led was the annual Christmas casual recruitment campaign that saw her having to recruit in excess of 1000 casual staff within a tight two month period.
After taking a two year career break to focus on her two young daughters, Tracey joined Solve in May 2013. This has enabled Tracey to translate her large organisational experience to the challenges faced by small and medium sized businesses and Tracey thrives in supporting businesses find appropriate recruitment solutions.
