A friendly family run business, Harrisons wished to establish firm succession plans for the future management team within the finance and administration team which ensured growth and allowed for investment in talent. All with the aim of future-proofing the business for another 100 years of trading.
Solve supported the Finance Director in the following ways:
Creating the business rationale and creation of organisational structure
Drafting the communication plans
Supporting in the consultation process and scripting meetings
Drafting of documentation including job descriptions
Managing adjustments post consultation and redundancy discussions
Recruiting and selecting vacant roles that had been defined in the new structure.
Within one month the restructure had been confirmed as complete and employees and the management team were able to start in the new roles. A robust process which accounted for employees views throughout; resulting in an improved final organisational structure which allowed for extra and cost effective coverage at peak periods. Additionally, through searching and scoping the roles out thoroughly Solve were able to fill the much needed vacancies using initiative and responsive recruitment practices.
