Black Light – Comprehensive Support- a ‘Light bulb moment!’
Black Light, a leading light, stage and sound business were introduced to Solve, when Managing Director Gavin Stewart asked Solve to facilitate a restructure.
This led to introducing new contracts of employment an employee handbook and the creation of a bespoke appraisal system based on Black Light’s values. The appraisal system was reinforced with management training on the new system and supporting processes. Subsequently Solve supported work with the Black Light management team on communication improvement strategy and team working. One of the outcomes from these management sessions, included the creation of two critical new roles which would improve customer service and save management time. Solve wholly managed the recruitment search for these crucial positions.
The sessions also created agreement in terms of expectations around communication and working methods. These sessions were reinforced, when Solve coordinated the ‘Black Light Staff Day’. This event got the whole company involved in defining the company mission statement, communication standards and structure along with supporting the management team members deliver their key messages. The day was rounded off with a fun group based communication challenge organised by Solve that reinforced earlier messages and brought out the competitive spirit in all!
On an ongoing basis the Black Light team lean on Solve to support and address their employee relations issues and strategically look at moving their people forward in a continually changing industry.
